Thoughts on the Miata

First off, I should say that I never really liked the Miata growing up (Don't hate me). As a kid, I just saw it as a cheap little sports car that didn't have a lot going for it. Ignorance, small mindedness, (youth?!) who knows, but that's what I thought. I worshipped the sports cars across the pond and nothing else. And then I got older. And THEN I started reading Oppo.

Now I see that it's so much m0re than a cheap little sports car. Its a little gem, a happy little roadster that delivers a lot of bang for your buck. Its quick, its light, it won't break the bank, and whats more, its a drivers car, plain and simple. Even if you can't appreciate its looks, you can appreciate what it does for people. Basically, it gives you big smiles and a great time. Little gem indeed.

So, why did you read all that crap up there? Well, basically I just wanted to show how much I love the Miata now and how I think some of you will eventually change your minds about the new one. Sure, some of you will go on to continue hating it (and of course you can) and spouting out stuff about how the first and second gen were the pinnacle of Miata'ing, (yup) but I think some of you will end up changing your tone when you come to, or rather back to the realization I had not so long ago, when all you fine people brought me around to it.

Its still a Miata. And it'll be a fine little car.

I am one of the peeps who doesn't really like the new one's look. But I won't say I hate it. good thing is the basic shape is outstanding so a facelift could be done.. but yes it is still a Miata, I am also someone who wasn't keen to the Miata growing up. But.... Now that I have mine I wish it was the 1st car I bought. I have had so many cars and a couple really sweet ones, but the Miata brings the most happiness. AND... That is what is important! Thanks for the reminder this morning and clearing up the disappointment from last night. It is storming here, I need to go out and re-remind myself why I love that little car so much! :D
